When function wins: Ceiling fan favorites
While statement lighting is often a strong feature in my interior design work, I can completely understand when function wins out. Here in the south, ceiling fans can become a necessity 7 months out of the year, especially on second and third floors. Personally, I have a second floor master bedroom and my husband will not forgo a ceiling fan for a statement lighting piece. I get it. I too can appreciate the feeling of a ceiling fan on hot, sticky summer night. Thankfully there are some decent options out there. However, I strongly suggest reserving ceiling fans for secondary spaces and use the opportunity to get that statement lighting piece in more public areas of your home. A ceiling fan without a light is preferable if you have ceiling cans. If a lighted fan is a must, I prefer the lights to be inset in the fan and not hanging down. Shop my favorites below so you don’t have to sweat your ceiling fan choices...
Clear and Cool
Modern and Matte
Industrial Chic
And some rooms I love, all with ceiling fans to inspire your design.
